My Introduction to Marketing


Hello,  my name is Johnathan. I am currently enjoying beautiful summer here in Albany. Business and marketing have always been passions of mine. In the wilds of day-to-day life with kids I find myself seeing advertisements and reviews everywhere I look. So, I have decided, what better than to jump headfirst into a business degree. I hope I will get the opportunity to learn how to make commercials and market them to certain demographics. My hobbies involve the water and sailing. My goal is after completing my degree I can move and work somewhere on the coast. Retiring on a large sailboat is a dream of mine for the future.

  A Social media presence I have observed recently is, Black Rifle Coffee Company (BRCC). I am what some call "a coffee snob," I have also been known to be driven by coffee. I would do just about anything to sit down and have a good cappuccino. One specific coffee brand I have come to be familiar with due to its veteran status is, BRCC. Recently, this coffee company has been hit with a lot of slander on social media. The coffee company has been under a-lot of attack on both sides of the political arena. This company had what you could assume, very gun friendly, freedom to bear arms stance when it came to politics. However, in recent light, they chose to remain neutral in their choice of words while many feel their actions spoke differently. Oreos To Save Humanity!

  Oreos! Double stuffed with a glass of whole milk is what I was craving after watching this amusing add in ADWEEK. Oreos have always had a special place in my heart. Or should I say -in my stomach? It has been my guilty pleasure for years. My favorite way to consume them is straight from the freezer. Every time I walk by or open my freezer I toss a delicious Oreo into my mouth. With a crazy life with family, kids, job and animals I justify that momentary escape I get from the cream filled, chocolate cookie. Fun Fact: Did you know Oreos are vegan? Making them a delicious treat for all those who are vegan or have an allergy.  I don't think I have met someone who didn't like Oreos? At the very least everyone knows what an Oreo is! Oreo took their commercial branding to the next level by asking their fans what they would like to see in a commercial.
