Oreos To Save Humanity!

 


Oreos! Double stuffed with a glass of whole milk is what I was craving after watching this amusing add in ADWEEK. Oreos have always had a special place in my heart. Or should I say -in my stomach? It has been my guilty pleasure for years. My favorite way to consume them is straight from the freezer. Every time I walk by or open my freezer I toss a delicious Oreo into my mouth. With a crazy life with family, kids, job and animals I justify that momentary escape I get from the cream filled, chocolate cookie. Fun Fact: Did you know Oreos are vegan? Making them a delicious treat for all those who are vegan or have an allergy. 

I don't think I have met someone who didn't like Oreos? At the very least everyone knows what an Oreo is! Oreo took their commercial branding to the next level by asking their fans what they would like to see in a commercial. Using what the fans wanted with some news jacking in current events, Oreo, has made an entertaining commercial we all deserve after a draining pandemic. They call it a stunt to save humanity from extraterrestrials! Its catchy! The creators at Oreo go to explain, if you were an alien visiting earth, and watch the movies we have made casting aliens, would you be upset? After pondering that question a bit, I think I would be a bit off-put. But have no fear, Oreo's are going to save us! After taking several polls on things such as; what the best Oreo is? Best place to consume Oreo's, as well as best milk to indulge your favorite cookie into? Oreo took these answers and set everything up in a crop circle as a peace offering for our space guests. Setting the scene inside the 'perfect' crop circle designed from this crunchy cookie filled with everything we all need with our Oreos. A glass of whole milk a cozy bed to curl up in, with of course showing us all the different kinds of Oreo products we get to enjoy. 

Oreo offers value to their customers with continued support to a be a high quality cookie offering value to their loyal customer base. The Oreo offering is a fun creative way to launch their new limited time Oreo in a new flashy packaging titled, The Offering. Its the same cookie we all enjoy but giving us a fun new Oreo package to look for on the shelfs. This is a creative way to stay relevant and remind people of what Oreo continues to offer its customers. With the high selection of other cookies on the shelf such as Keebler that offer chips deluxe or the fudge shoppe. Oreo needs to stay current and offer customers something different. Something that is eye catching for when customers are walking down the long isles at the local grocery store. Seeing the exact same packaging on the shelfs as you walk down the isles to the same songs playing over head. Thinking of the long list of things you need to accomplish before bed. Oreo needed something to pop out of the shelfs. Something to distract you and take you away from your thoughts and into thinking of them. This new packaging called The Offering will entice your curiosity and make you think of their fun commercial of saving humanity. While at the same time reminding you of the fun you had years ago doing the Oreo challenge you did with your kids.  


Oreo has spoke to all of our inner curiosity of outer-space and added a splash of humor. To the small town feel of corn fields in Kansas. This commercial gives Oreo many possibilities they can build off of to make more fun catchy little commercials about aliens and UFOs.  The only thing they needed is some Josh Groban to bring this commercial home. The commercial needs a good ET feel, something more with aliens instead of the aliens drinking all the milk. Maybe show the aliens enjoying the delicious Oreos. 

Overall i found Oreos new commercial exciting and a great way to stay current with what is being talked about on the news. The government has been releasing information regarding the UFO sighting and what they know about these unidentified flying objects. Although in todays society, with all the information at your finger tips, I learned it is harder than I thought to stay current in everything happening. It is important for companies to stay relevant to what the POP culture and customers care about most on the news. What better way to relate to your consumers than to build off current events? I am now going to go help myself to a delicious Oreo! Bye Y'all!
